Liz Detmold
Vice President, Operations
Liz is a born and raised Calgarian. Before joining Litco Law as the Administrative Services Team Lead in 2022, she spent 14 years working for the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta as a leader in customer service and re-employment services. Liz is an avid world traveler (23 countries and counting!) and spends her free time in the circus world performing flying trapeze and aerial silks. Liz is also a lifelong Calgary Flames fan. Liz embraces the core value of ‘Ask Why’ through her focus on consistent improvement – she’s always looking for ways to improve the experience for clients.

Vanessa Raven
Vice President, Corporate Technology
Vanessa joined the Litco Business & Technology Services team in November 2019. Originally from Victoria, BC, she and her family reside in Calgary with their fluffy labradoodle, Stanley. Vanessa brings 15 years of project management experience in the Information Technology sector. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Science as well as her PMP designation. Vanessa is a champion of our core value Own it. She is eager to take on challenges, find ways to work more efficiently, and takes pride in being accountable to the team. When away from work, Vanessa loves spending time doing anything outdoors, travelling and camping with her family.

David Mooney
Controller
David was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He attended the University of Lethbridge where he completed his Bachelor of Arts, History. He worked with people with disabilities for a few years before moving into accounting. He attended Mount Royal University and started working at PricewaterhouseCoopers. David achieved his CPA, CA in 2012. David enjoys spending time with his family and training in martial arts in his free time. He lives our Core Value of Ask Why by constantly looking at ways to improve process and challenge the status quo to help improve the client experience.

Kate Croxton
Manager, Client Solutions
Kate first joined Litco Law in 2017 as a Case Manager and later moved into our Client Solutions Lead role in 2021. She worked in insurance for over 10 years prior to coming to our firm. Kate enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, going to barre class, reading and enjoying a sunny patio in the summer. She demonstrates kindness by really listening to and caring about our clients as well as taking the time to explain the claims process thoroughly.

Brittney Laan
Manager, Client Care
Brittney is a Case Manager at Litco Law. She is from Calgary, and resides here with her husband James. With a varied and extensive background in the industry, she brings over ten years of insurance experience to Litco. Brittney and her husband like to spend their spare time experiencing many different cultures while travelling abroad. She embraces the core value of Own it – her passion and tenacity makes a difference for our clients every

Laura McKiernan
Manager, Legal Assistants

Laura is a graduate from SAIT’s Legal Assistant program and has a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Royal Roads University. She joined Litco Law’s intake department in 2017 but quickly moved into a Legal Assistant role. She loves to stay active and travel whenever the opportunity arises. Laura embodies the core value of empathy by showing patience and compassion for all clients to ensure they are supported and looked after during difficult times.

Alex Cameron
Manager, Innovation & Analytics
Alex, born and raised in the United Kingdom, moved to Calgary and joined the Litco Law Business & Technology Services team in November 2018. Bringing with him 10 years of experience in business systems development and support, Alex was able to implement immediate changes into the core case management system to enable business wide efficiencies. Alex Owns It for the Litco team by coming up with creative solutions for problems they didn’t know they had. Outside of the office, Alex enjoys spending time with family and exploring their new life here in Calgary.

Kathleen Buskell
Director, Legal Support Services
Kathleen was born and raised in Winnipeg. She continued her education at the University of Manitoba and graduated from The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in the Legal Assistant program in 2016. When she is not in office, she is busy with her husband and 2 young kids. In her spare time she enjoys going to Barre, Lagree, and loves to cook and bake. She embraces Ask Why – always improving processes, further educating herself and sharing information with her team members.

L.D. Todd Litwiniuk

Professional Background
Todd graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Political Science in 1991, and obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Wales in 1994. He was called to the bar by the Law Society of Alberta in 1995, and has worked at Litco Law ever since. Todd has focused on Catastrophic Injury and Fatality claims, Occupiers’ Liability and Motor Vehicle Accidents, although he also has experience in many other areas of the law.
Todd’s extensive advocacy experience includes:
- Administrative Tribunals
- Provincial Court (Civil, Criminal, and Family and Youth Divisions)
- Court of King’s Bench
- Judicial Dispute Resolution
- Mediation
Todd is an active member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, and he is devoted to protecting the rights of injured Albertans. As CEO of Litco Law, Todd is committed to making Litco Law the personal injury law firm of choice for all Albertans. His vision and dedication have contributed to the growth of the firm, without sacrificing the outstanding client service that Litco Law is known for. He is also a member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), and a volunteer for the SAIT Legal Assistant Program Advisory Committee (PAC).

Holly Litwiniuk
Director, Brand & Communications
After receiving a Bachelor of Music specializing in Vocal Performance from the University of Manitoba, Holly moved to Nashville, TN to pursue her dreams as a songwriter and recording artist. She fell in love with Music City USA and called it home for many years. Holly earned her second degree, from Belmont University, in business. Her honors designation secured her membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. In 2017 she took a page out of the family playbook and opened her own business, Luster Nail Parlour. Holly continued to stay connected with Litco Law while running her salon. In 2023 Holly returned to Cow Town to join the Litco Law Brand and Marketing team full time. When she’s not working, she enjoys jazzercise, going to the movies, and hanging with her main squeeze, Popple the Pomeranian. Holly lives our core value of Empathy by holding the intention to always have compassion for others, and practicing the golden rule.

Cameron Chenier
Manager, Software Development
Cameron moved to Calgary after being born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. His passion for technology led him to pursue a Computer Science degree from the University of Calgary. He also holds a PMP designation. Cameron brings over 15 years of software development and technical project management to the team. He strives to bring together technology and people every day. While not working on building and implementing new technologies he can be found spending time with his wife and young daughter. You’ll also find him biking, swimming and running as he trains for triathlons. As someone that continually tries new things and understands successes come with some setbacks, he believes highly in our Don’t Blame core value.

Christina Rotheisler
Manager, Client Experience & Administrative Services
Christina was born in Calgary. She is a graduate of Mount Royal University, completing a Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing. Christina is proud to have been a dance instructor and choreographer for 10 years and has gained experience in fields including fitness and automotive. She is passionate about music and loves traveling, working out, and watching football. Christina strives to embody our core value of Own It by being someone her clients and team members can depend on.

Fredric J.R. Litwiniuk

Fred obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 1998 from Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales, in the United Kingdom. He is an active member of the Law Society of Alberta, and practices in the area of Civil Litigation. His advocacy experience includes the appearances, mediations, and applications and trials at the Provincial Court (Civil, Criminal, and Family and Youth Divisions) and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.
In May 2017, Fred graduated with distinction with a dual MBA from Cornell and Queen’s Universities. He applies that business education in his role as the firm’s Joint CEO. Fred is passionate about delivering a world-class service experience to each and every client, and a similarly remarkable employment experience to team members at the firm. Fred lives our core value of Kindness by seeing the potential in everyone and supporting and challenging our team members to reach the highest standards, because he knows what incredible things they can achieve.

Jonathan Noorduyn

Jonathan joined Litco Law in 2010 as a Student at Law, and upon completion of his articling year and his admission to the Alberta Bar, he joined the firm as an associate lawyer.
Jonathan’s legal interest areas include:

- Alternative Dispute Resolution
While in law school, Jonathan worked with Student Legal Services (SLS) to providing legal information and access to justice to low-income people in the Edmonton area. Working with SLS allowed Jonathan to experience a wide variety of civil actions. He continues to actively pursue professional development opportunities, including a recent seminar on Negotiations and Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Hawaii.

In addition to his volunteer commitments, Jonathan enjoys snowboarding, surfing, hiking and international travel. His interests also include improving his golf swing and watching a good Leafs game.

Michelle Tong
Director, Professional Development
Professional Background
Michelle joined Litco Law in 2013 as a Student-at-Law after obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alberta. Prior to attending law school, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and was a summer law student with a Vancouver family litigation firm.
While in law school, Michelle actively volunteered with Student Legal Services (SLS) to provide legal information and access to justice to low-income individuals in the Edmonton area. Working with SLS allowed Michelle to gain valuable experience in both civil and criminal litigation and advocacy experience at the Provincial Court of Alberta. Michelle was also the 2013 recipient of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation Prize recognizing superior academic standing.
Michelle was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2014 and joined the firm as an Associate Lawyer. As a lawyer, she is continuing to develop her expertise in civil litigation. Michelle primarily focuses on personal injury matters and has made numerous appearances before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. Her volunteer work and litigation experience has only further solidified her eagerness to practice law in the spirit of helping people.
