Litco Law is proud to announce that our very own Fredric Litwiniuk has volunteered to be a Board Member for the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone in 2014. The BRZ serves over 50,000 residents and business owners in the communities making up the Greater Forest Lawn area including Dover, Forest Lawn, Erin Woods, Albert Park /Radisson Heights, Forest Heights, Southview and Penbrook Meadows.
The mission of the BRZ is to promote, improve and create a more pleasant environment in which to shop and live.

International Avenue is a vibrant business district with a diverse ethnic composition located on 17th Avenue S.E., from 26 to 61st streets, in Calgary. There is an interesting mix of business representative of the cosmopolitan neighbourhoods surrounding the Avenue. It is an area of one-stop shopping with access to a selection of restaurants and grocery stores from around the world, as well as a wide range of other retail goods and services. International Avenue; where you can go around the world in 35 blocks.
The BRZ is very active in the community, supporting events such as the popular Globalfest Fireworks Festival at Elliston Park (globalfest.ca), Around the World in 35 Blocks Food Tour, Movies on the Avenue, and the annual International Avenue Stampede Breakfast. Other causes include fundraising for the International Avenue Arts and Cultural Centre, and artbox on 17E. The BRZ is also committed to revitalization, by supporting the International Avenue Mural Project, tree planting, graffiti removal, park development, and placement of benches and trash cans. Perhaps its greatest responsibility is working with the City of Calgary on planning and policy to improve transit, walkability, and cleanliness, while retaining the multicultural character of the area.
Fredric is proud to serve the neighbourhood where Litco Law was founded in 1976, and where it has stood ever since. This will be his first year on the Board.
“This community has been so good to me, my family, and our business,” says Fredric. “I’m happy to have this opportunity to give something back, and to improve our district so that more people will have a chance to experience all the wonderful things International Avenue has to offer. The restaurants, shops, and businesses are diverse and unique; Calgarians really owe it to themselves to visit our neighbourhood.”
