Professional Background


Colin graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy in 1995 and then obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1998.  He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba in 2003. He was called to the Ontario bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2004 and practiced with two leading litigation firms in Thunder Bay, Ontario before relocating to Calgary in 2007. He was called to the Alberta bar by the Law Society of Alberta in 2007 and practiced with a leading litigation boutique firm in Calgary for over 8 years before commencing at Litco Law in 2015.

The primary focus in his practice is civil litigation, with key areas of practice including personal injury, insurance and occupiers’ liability.  In his years of practice, Colin has also assisted clients with catastrophic injury and fatality claims, and he has experience in other areas of the law, such as commercial litigation and litigation arising from shareholder disputes.

Colin is devoted to assisting injured individuals and their families navigate the complexities of the legal system.  His extensive advocacy experience includes appearances before several administrative tribunals, the provincial, superior and appellate courts in several jurisdictions and numerous participations in judicial dispute resolutions and private mediations.  Colin understands the legal system and its various participants through his experience and believes that his skill and compassion can assist injured individuals to resolve their claims in an effective and efficient manner.

Colin’s hobbies include listening to and playing music, reading and aspiring to mediocre golf.
