Gelsy is a second-year law student completing her degree at L’Université de Moncton, entirely in French. Before starting her law degree in 2021, Gelsy graduated from the University of Winnipeg in the same year, obtaining a Bachelor of Honours degree in Criminal Justice on the Dean’s Honour List. She was a student-athlete for the first three years of her Undergraduate degree and has recently returned to her roots, starting her second USports career at her law school.
Gelsy has always enjoyed being part of her community, volunteering with animal rescue initiatives and rehabilitative organizations for many years. As one of the individuals who helped to create the Women in Law Association at her faculty and as the current treasurer, Gelsy has committed to organizing events within the association and has acted as a mentor to first-year law students. She hopes to continue to advocate for equality.
Gelsy joined Litco Law in 2023 as a summer student with a passion to learn, gain practical legal experience, and be a part of a dynamic work environment. She embraces and prioritizes our core value of empathy by carrying herself with kindness and engaging in active listening.
Gelsy was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but has spent a significant amount of time travelling and exploring different parts of the world. In her free time, Gelsy is passionate about the outdoors, having spent two summers working and exploring the landscape Kananaskis country has to offer. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her rescue dog, Layla.
