Kathleen Buskell

Legal Assistant

Joined Litco Law in May 2015

Kathleen (Kat) started with Litco Law in May 2015 as a summer student. She completed her legal assistant practicum with us before graduating from SAIT, and has since grown into her primary role as a trainer for the Client Care team. Let’s hear what Kathleen’s team members had to say!

Core Value – Own It: You make a difference by doing great things every single day, no matter how big or small, that make a positive impact on someone else.

“Kat is always so willing to help out, and often volunteers to take on extra responsibility. She is doing an outstanding job training new hires, and she always has a positive attitude. Kat keeps our skills sharp and encourages professional development by hosting ongoing learning sessions. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, and definitely deserves this award!”

“She always owns it when taking on new projects or working with the team to improve systems and processes as well as ongoing teaching sessions for new and existing team members. Kat embodies all of the Core Values every day and shows this especially with the Client Care team.”

Core Value – Empathy: Walk the mile and take the extra step by understanding what someone is going through and doing something to help them.

“Kat embodies empathy on a regular basis. She is the first one to make herself available when someone needs help. She frequently recognizes the work that the Client Care Specialists team does and tells us all how proud she is of our team. Kat also goes out of her way to help team members feel welcome and supported, always.”

“Kat is empathetic to both coworkers and clients. She is humble, kind, and incredibly soft-spoken.”

Core Value – Kindness: Help others feel great about themselves by genuinely caring, actively listening, and being sensitive to those around you.

“Kat always brings a joyful and positive attitude to everything she does. She teaches ongoing learning sessions, books one-on-one training and shadowing, provides us with support from other departments, and she is an incredibly fun person to be around.”

“Kat is always the most kind and empathetic person. She makes sure that everyone is met with kindness when they walk into a room.”

Core Value – Ask Why: Challenge the status quo by not being afraid to ask the tough questions in order to find ways to improve and grow as a company and as individuals.

“She’s always looking for ways to make things even better and easier for our clients and team members.”

“Kat is always willing to ask the important questions and encourage new hires and members of the team to ask them too.”

Core Value – Don’t Blame: Point the finger at yourself by holding yourself accountable to how you contributed to a situation and focus on finding a solution rather than laying blame.

“Kat is incredibly patient with new hires and never blames them when something goes wrong. On the daily, she finds answers to the numerous questions we ask her. The client care team is incredibly lucky to have her with us.”

We’re incredibly grateful to Kat for doing such an amazing job of supporting the team and being such a great example of our core values. Thanks for everything you do!!
